If elected, I will prioritise streamlining processes for local developments which is a direct link to the success of our small businesses and local families.
Gary Gardner is committed to driving positive change in Toowoomba
I am committed to addressing the pressing need for water security in our region. It's not just about meeting the demands of today, but about ensuring a sustainable future for our community amidst projected population growth of approximately 42,000, which equates to roughly 27% more people in our region.
Water security is the cornerstone of our ability to thrive and expand responsibly, allowing us to pursue agricultural endeavours, create new developments, attract businesses and investments, and accommodate diverse housing needs. By prioritising water security, we can shape our region's growth in a way that aligns with our values and aspirations, ensuring a vibrant and resilient future for generations to come.
I'm dedicated to enhancing our region's road network and ensuring effective utilisation of grants to lessen the burden on ratepayers. As a council candidate, I'll maximise State and Federal funding opportunities like the Black Spots and Targeted Road Safety Programs.
I'm committed to addressing CBD parking chaos, boosting Inner-City Living, and supporting local businesses. As a council candidate, I'll push for more affordable housing, less traffic, and a thriving CBD supporting our local business
I propose exploring the sale of under-utilised TRC-owned land for housing development.
Proceeds from such sales will be reinvested to alleviate financial pressures and support initiatives benefiting our community. I support inner-city development projects like the railway parklands which will continue to develop the livability of our region.
Gary is dedicated to fostering an environment where small businesses and families can thrive by cutting through bureaucratic red tape and streamlining processes for growth.
“As a candidate for the Toowoomba Local Council, I'm committed to driving business growth and cutting through bureaucratic red tape that stifles progress. My experience navigating the hurdles of council policies, has shown me the critical need for efficient decision-making.
If elected, I will prioritise streamlining processes for local developments which is a direct link to the success of our small businesses and local families."
With deep roots in Toowoomba, Gary is passionate about preserving our community heritage and continuing to make Toowoomba an even better place to live for generations to come.
"With deep roots in Toowoomba dating back to the 1960s, I understand the importance of community. My family's journey mirrors the essence of Toowoomba itself—a story of resilience and unwavering determination.
If elected, I promise to continue supporting our community through initiatives that enhance quality of life, strengthen community bonds, and make Toowoomba an even better place to live."
Gary recognises the economic challenges facing our city and is committed to tackling issues such as homelessness and the increased cost of living through strategic investments in infrastructure, affordable housing, and sustainable growth.
"I believe in continuing strategic developments in our region to alleviate these pressures. Supporting our regions traditional industries of agriculture, exporting, energy resourcing sectors which will have a ripple effect that benefits the whole Toowoomba region.
If elected, I will advocate for continued investment in these sectors, recognising the positive impact they have on job creation, economic growth, and overall community well-being."
Gary believes in the importance of investing in regional projects outside the Toowoomba radius that still positively impact our city, particularly in energy and infrastructure, manufacturing, export, and health and education sectors.
“Australia is facing economic uncertainty, cost of living increases and homelessness. I believe in continuing strategic developments in our region to alleviate these pressures.
By investing in these areas, we can create opportunities, uplift our community, and tackle the challenges directly. Let's build a Toowoomba where everyone can thrive."
