Stepping into his father's footsteps, Gary has dedicated nearly five decades to steering the FKG Group, a cornerstone of the Toowoomba business landscape, towards remarkable growth and innovation.


As a proud member of the Toowoomba community, Gary understands the unique challenges facing our region. Whether it's fostering sustainable development, improving infrastructure, or supporting local businesses, his commitment to the betterment of Toowoomba is unwavering.


With his extensive experience in business and his deep understanding of the Toowoomba landscape, Gary Gardner is well-equipped to tackle the rising challenges confronting our community. His candidacy for council represents a commitment to leveraging his expertise to drive positive change and ensure a prosperous future for Toowoomba and its residents.


Outside of the Boardroom Gary is a loving husband to Melissa, Father to 5 children and 3 step children, and Grandfather to 13. He is an avid gardener and enjoys getting back to his farming roots at home with his backyard chickens and bee-hives.

As the driving force behind the FKG Group, Gary's leadership has propelled the company from its origins in smaller private developments to a diversified organisation that spearheads integrated construction, civil, and development projects.


The Gardner family's imprint on Toowoomba's landscape deepened with the creation of the Picnic Point precinct in 1995, showcasing their commitment to enhancing community spaces. Over the years, Gary's strategic approach to development has yielded numerous notable projects, including the Repco and Paint store on Herries St, and the GTH and Namoi Cotton Buildings on Kitchener St.


Gary's vision for inner-city living is exemplified by the Quest Apartments hotel, a landmark development that has revitalised historical landmarks and reshaped Toowoomba's skyline.


Toowoomba is the prime destination for industries to invest in, and the Witmack Road Industrial Precinct stands as a testament to the potential this region holds. However, obstacles and bureaucratic hurdles from the council often make it challenging for outside investors to engage with our region's development opportunities.
